Blacks Rugby Football Club was founded in 1955 and is one of the most active local rugby clubs in Singapore.
The club has a Men's and Women's section with various teams and train on a weekly basis.

Blacks Rugby Football Club is a rugby club registered under the Societies Act (Chapter 311) and was formed by a group of rugby zealots.
In days of old, the players had to provide their own jerseys. Finding it much easier to obtain a black coloured shirt than any other, the impoverished lot donned black jerseys for their games – hence the name Blacks Rugby Football Club.
Through the years, BRFC has produced many of Singapore’s finest players who have represented the club as well as the nation.
The club today remains true to its humble beginnings and grassroots values of providing opportunities for young players to grow and represent regardless of background.
The women's section of BRFC was founded in 1996.
Drawn from all walks of life, the women’s section’s commitment to the sport has made us a veritable driving force for the development of women's rugby in Singapore.
The Women's team are 12 times champions of the annual National Clubs 7s and 8 times champions of the National 15s Championships. Since 1998, BRFC’s Women’s Wing has been steadily supplying its players to the Singapore National Women's 7s and 15s teams.

Blacks made history by winning the SRU Premier Division Championship with their team comprising mostly local players.
Group of enthusiastic players which started out playing touch form a rugby union side.
The team participate in their first international rugby tournament, the Hat Yai International Sevens, and bring back the Championships against Thailand and Hong Kong. The following year, Blacks organises the first international women's tournament in Singapore, the Blacks Women's 7s, involving teams from Japan and Thailand.
Blacks Women overcome the Royal Australian Navy in the finals. A watershed in their history, the team returns to Singapore with confidence and marks the beginning of an era of dominance for the team locally. The team successfully defend their title against Thailand's Mahasakran team in a thrilling final.
Blacks are the first women's team from Singapore to tour as a 15s team in Bangkok. A year later, Blacks are the first women's team from Singapore to take on two National Teams, Thailand and Hong kong in Bangkok.
Blacks Women win an emotionally charged final against the Thai Barbarians at the inaugural Blacks Midnight 7s featuring 8 women's teams from Hong Kong (HKFC Ice, DEA Tigers, Causewaybay), Guam (Para Todu) and Thailand (Thai Babarians, KDW Surat Thani).
Blacks Women take the first of many titles in the first ever Singapore Rugby Women's 15s Championships and defend their title 4 times in a row. In 2009, the Blacks Women's first team also wins their 9th title in the SRU Women's 7s Championships.
Blacks are the first club to send two women's teams into the 15s Championships
A changing of the guard as the new generation of Blacks Women win the 15s titles in 2013 and 2014.
